Krave’s Lip and Cheek Salve| Color as you Heal

26 Apr

I am all for multi-tasking products and since this one is a lip and cheek product, you can bet that this one was on my to-buy list. But then I remembered I have a 1000 gift certificate from Krave Minerale Cosmeceuticals since I won the Fearless Krave Mom last year Mother’s day.

The Krave team suggested I get 2 oil eliminators and 1 lip and cheek salve. I agreed because I really wanted to try the salve ever since it was released. I received it a day after we talked. Fast, right?

I like that it was sealed when I received it, assuring me it was new. It has a very glam, sleek looking packaging with a purple label “KRAVE”.

Ellana Lip and Cheek Gel in Ruby | Are you Red-y?!

8 Mar

Ellana Cosmetics is another brand which is proudly Pinoy made. It recently made a comeback, which caters improved and new products. I haven’t tried any of them yet until BDJ Box included one of its bestsellers in the January-February BDJ Box.

The shade I got was Ruby and from the bottle, it looks bloody red with blue undertone. I love the functionality of the packaging. It is a pump plastic bottle which can withstand falls. The pump, on the other hand, has no cover but it locks as you twist it – making it very travel friendly! The drawing / label design looks very sophisticated and feminine!

DIY: How to Make Organic Lip and Cheek Tint

10 Feb

I was thinking on making a different D-I-Y using all organic products. I came up with this lip and cheek tint! Read on to find out how!

STEPS:

1. Prepare the things you will need:
  • empty container (I used the sample container from Krave)
  • Human Nature Lip Balm
  • organic pigments (I chose Krave’s Blush Krush in Pink Muffin)
  • Organic Oils (Human Nature Sunflower Beauty Oil and Krave’s Panacea Oil)
  • toothpick (for mixing and scooping)
  • tissue (for cleaning/wiping mess)
  • makeup setting spray
  • candle
  • match
  • spoon

2. Fill an empty container with the chosen organic pigments. I used Krave Blush Krush in Pink Muffin sampler from Krave. I did not use any other colors to keep it simple.

3. Scoop out an organic lip balm with a spoon. I chose the Peppermint flavor because it has an almost clear color. You can choose Human Nature Tinted Lip Balms if you want more tint.

4. Light a candle with a match or lighter and put the spoon above the candle approximately 3-4 inches above. You might burn yourself so be very careful. Wait until the lip balm melts.

5. Pour the melted lip balm into the container filled with organic blush pigments. Stir with a toothpick.

6. Optional: Add 2-3 drops of organic oils to add more benefits on the tint. Do not add more than 3 drops because it may look to oily on your cheeks if you do.

7. Repeat steps 2 to 5 until you get the amount that you want. You may want to add more pigments or lip balm. Stir, stir, stir while the mixture is hot. It warms and hardens up in a bit so you have to be quick. You can always scoop out the mixture in the pot and heat it if you are not satisfied with how it looks.

8. Once you are satisfied, spray a setting spray and let it cool down and harden for about thirty minutes. You can even put it in the

I used this sampler from Krave so my pot already has a label.
