Topaz Mommy x Bobbi Brown Makeup Workshop

13 May

I arrived in Bobbi Brown Megamall (between Bldg A and Bldg B) 11 am sharp. There were mommies too, I assumed, my fellow winners/readers of Topaz Mommy, a blog by Ms. Frances A. Sales. We were all waiting and when Ms. Frances arrived, my jaw dropped. I whispered to my new mommy friend, Aubrey, “Ang ganda ni Ms. Frances!” She walked through the store, wearing a black tube top, black pants, pearl necklace and a bare face– simply gorgeous!

I love this Bobbi Brown store because it is beautifully arranged, and the products are so pretty!

We were doing some icebreakers and just chatting before the workshop started. We also took turns swatching which shade will match our skin tones.Ms. Frances gave out Leuchtturm notebooks (Php 1200) to each of us.

Bobbi Brown Manager also dropped in to say hi. Ms. Sam Sadhwani was also there! We did not know that there was a mini workshop room inside the Bobbi Brown flagship store! Ms. Tamara was the one who taught us about the basics of makeup application. The model, of course, was Ms. Frances!

BDJ Box Beauty Soiree: Ready, Set, Gorgeous with Covergirl!

10 Feb

I was invited by the BDJ Box Team to attend their first ever BDJ Box Beauty Soiree. I have attended all the BDJ Box Beauty Socials and I felt that I just couldn’t pass this one out. Besides, I felt I was lucky to be invited.

It was a well attended event and I got to meet beauty bloggers like Ms. Donna of My Lucid Intervals, Celine of Product Arena and Kc of Kikay Si Kat ( who happens to be a schoolmate back in preschool!)

The event was sponsored by Covergirl Philippines. The brand recently released a new line named Ready Set Gorgeous. This line has 3 products — foundation (Php 495) , powder (Php 345) , and concealer (Php 395). Among these, other Covergirl items were used for the demonstration of Say.

The event was held last February 1 in The Open Space, Jupiter St. in Makati. It was an intimate gathering of makeup lovers. Say Tioco Artillero, a Filipina youtube guru, demonstrated a fresh makeup look using Covergirl products. I got to be seated in table 2, where I met new friends, Patty and Lyzelle! Hey bellas!

See you at the BDJ Box Beauty Social: Camp Gorgeous on September 14!

11 Sep

I am a certified Bella. I have supported BDJ Box Beauty Socials from the first one they had in Mall of Asia, the second at SM North Edsa Sky Dome, the third at SM Aura. Fourth time’s a charm, because I am definitely be present again!

I’m counting down the days to the BDJ Box Beauty Social at the Skydome in SM North EDSA on September 14, 2014!camp gorgeous

What is BDJ Box? If ever this is your first time to hear about this (which I doubt), BDJ Box is a beauty product discovery subscription service for women. Brought to you by the makers of the Belle de Jour Power Planner, BDJ Box aims to help every Filipina unbox her own beauty. For P580 a month, subscribers receive a mass-customized box with at least 5-6 of the best beauty products delivered to their doorstep.

As before, I’m still very much excited to try each and every activity booth at the Beauty Social! I just wish that wifi would not be required to join any of the activity. The last time in SM Aura many of the attendees were not able to qualify because of this.

Anyway, here is a complete list of brand partners included:

Yves Rocher, Too Cool for School, Revlon,Max Factor, L’Oreal Paris, Covergirl, Benefit Cosmetics, Real Techniques and Ecotools Brushes, Heroine Make, PAC Cosmetics, Piandre, and Glam Glow.

Thank God the Jampacked Week is Over

9 Sep

Last week had been one of the busiest weeks ever. It was filled with errands and to-do’s and I am so relieved now that they are over.

To start off, last August 31, hubby and I had our “reunions” with our high school friends on the same day as that of our daughter’s Linggo ng Wika Presentation. So our day started early and ended early 3am of September 1. We spent the afternoon doing our tasks separately and just meeting at home to go out again.

This September 2, I found a big round rash on my trunk and every day it spread out. Luckily, it wasn’t obvious because I only had them in my chest and back which was covered with clothing. I was seen by an Internist and he diagnosed that I have ringworm all over my skin. He changed Canesten (I used it on the onset of the first rash I’ve seen) to Triderm but still the rash is quickly spreading. As of this writing, I already went to a Dermatologist and found out that this is Tigdas Hangin. No wonder the creams I used seemed to be of no use because the cause of this is viral. I was just given oral antihistamine and a steroidal lotion. This may last for 4 weeks but if I am unlucky, this may last up to 8 weeks.

A very shocking news rocked our family on September 3 with the death of a grandmother (my Dad’s aunt) and we tried to visit every night of the wake.

It was also this week that hubby and I celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary.

The whole week I was busy preparing, organizing and inviting guests for my Mom’s 50th birthday party last September 6. I was the main coordinator — I made a powerpoint presentation for her AVP, called photo/videographer for the coverage, helped my Aunt make the cake tower, prepared giveaways, planned the program and of course, hosted it too. Thankfully, it was successful.

This September 7, the Christian Life Program Week 1 of the CFC NSOLL Chapter started. Hubby and I were invited and we accepted. The invitation came just in time because we feel that this is a ‘calling’ for both of us.

My grandaunt was laid to rest in Serenity only yesterday, September 8, the same date of Mama Mary’s birthday and my cousin’s 18th birthday.

Hubby and I would always kid around that we have this ‘curse’ of having one event too many on a given day, and none the next day. Ever since we got together as a couple it has been this way. We just laugh it off and try our best to attend to what’s the most important and urgent first.

Maybe now you wouldn’t wonder where I’ve been this week. Hoping for better days and weeks ahead. Hopefully too, the measles I have won’t scar and would heal sooner than I expect it would be.

What about you? How’s your September going?

BDJ BOX Beauty Social Event

23 Apr

Last March 24, I attended the BDJ Box Beauty Social Event with my hubby and baby, my brother and his girl friend. Everyone is welcomed but the pre-registered ones are prioritized. We signed up and confirmed our registrations and got a pamphlet like this:

???????????????????????????????

I was scheduled to attend two talks: Beauty Questions Solved and All Dolled Up. Both of which I attended standing behind the audience since my little girl cannot sit still.

We were a bit overwhelmed to which booth we should visit first. After the 1pm talk, I visited each booth one by one. There are some booths with plenty of people around so I wasn’t able to squeeze myself in.

Here are some of the participating booths and happenings in the event:

Karla and I also got our shot in the Brow Haus’ free upper lip threading…and it hurt! I look funny I know but that was the proper position. The skin on the upper lip should be stretched. Oh well it was our first time and my upper lip felt amazingly smooth!

We also had our chance at the nail art section. I wanted the lemon but there were only 5 pieces left so I had to choose another. I just chose cupcakes for the other 5 pieces. Lemons for my left hand and cupcakes for the right. My little girl was busy posing at the booths decors.

This was our only picture there. Haggardness and all, we managed to smile because we were happy ladies that day.20130423-172913.jpg

Of course we didn’t come home empty handed. We love the loot bag. Though we weren’t able to use the Shiseido voucher inside the loot bag, we were still happy with the event.
