Topaz Mommy x Bobbi Brown Makeup Workshop

13 May

I arrived in Bobbi Brown Megamall (between Bldg A and Bldg B) 11 am sharp. There were mommies too, I assumed, my fellow winners/readers of Topaz Mommy, a blog by Ms. Frances A. Sales. We were all waiting and when Ms. Frances arrived, my jaw dropped. I whispered to my new mommy friend, Aubrey, “Ang ganda ni Ms. Frances!” She walked through the store, wearing a black tube top, black pants, pearl necklace and a bare face– simply gorgeous!

I love this Bobbi Brown store because it is beautifully arranged, and the products are so pretty!

We were doing some icebreakers and just chatting before the workshop started. We also took turns swatching which shade will match our skin tones.Ms. Frances gave out Leuchtturm notebooks (Php 1200) to each of us.

Bobbi Brown Manager also dropped in to say hi. Ms. Sam Sadhwani was also there! We did not know that there was a mini workshop room inside the Bobbi Brown flagship store! Ms. Tamara was the one who taught us about the basics of makeup application. The model, of course, was Ms. Frances!

Ms. Frances arrived (so brave) bare faced. She also said I can upload this photo… You can compare this with her photo below after the makeover and see the difference!

Before putting on makeup, you have to prep your face– start with skincare first. Ms. Tamara used Bobbi Brown Extra Bright serum/toner. She said we also need to use an oil-free moisturizer before we put on makeup.

Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Serum Foundation was applied next. It has SPF 40 so for on-the-go moms like us, this is a plus especially when we are in a hurry and don’t have time to layer on products! Next, Bobbi Brown Eye Corrector in the shade peach was applied under her eyes to cover her dark circles. Bobbi Brown Concealer Kit was applied over where the corrector was put first. Ms. Tamara said that it is used to brighten that area. The powder that came with it was used to set the concealer. It instantly made a difference on Ms. Frances’ look!

Her brows were filled in next with Bobbi Brown Perfectly Defined Long Wear Brow Pencil in Mahogany, a mid-tone ash brown shade. It is very easy to use since the pencil is already has a flat, sword-like feature. I find that sword-like type of pencils can fill in brows more naturally. It is also waterproof!

Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge in Pale Pink, a bright pastel pink shade, which works as a lip and cheek color, was applied on Ms. Frances’ lips and cheeks.

For her eyeshadow, Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Sand Dune, a medium beige tan, was applied all over the lids. Bobbi Brown Perfectly Defined Gel Eyeliner was used to tightline her eyes. Next step was to curl the lashes and apply Bobbi Brown Mascara. To apply more color on her cheeks, Bobbi Brown Brightening Brick in Pastel Pink was applied over the pot rouge.

To change her daytime look to night time look, Bobbi Brown Long Wear Shadow Cream in Beach Bronze, a golden brown shimmer, was applied over the cream stick. The Pot Rouge was re-applied with a lip brush to make the color more opaque.

TA-DAAAAHHH! How easy it is to change your look from day to night, right?

After the workshop, we finished our meals, (from Eats Happy, a bento makeup inspired lunch with lasagna, bread, mixed vegetables, cordon blue, and cupcake).

A loot bag was also distributed to each of us containing cute travel size samples of their cleansing oil, serum and lip gloss.

Here comes the FUN PART! We took turns playing with makeup! Since it was just lunch time, I opted for a natural look — with subtle smokey eye and neutral lip and cheek combo. Ms. Sam helped me choose what shade of Pot Rouge looked nice on me. Ms. Tamara helped me blend in my eyebrows. There were also some SA who were willing to help us apply the products properly.

Here are the products I used:

Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Serum Foundation in Warm Sand

Bobbi Brown Eye Corrector in peach

Bobbi Brown Concealer Kit

Bobbi Brown Perfectly Defined Long Wear Brow Pencil in Mahogany

Bobbi Brown Perfectly Defined Gel Eyeliner in Brown

Bobbi Brown Long Wear Shadow Cream in Beach Bronze (not in photo)

Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge in Powder Pink

Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick

There were also a raffle of All About Eyes book and a Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Eyeliner in Black! I was praying to myself, hoping that my name will be one of the two which will be picked… Guess what? Kaity was the first and I was the second!!! LUCKY!!! Thank God for that. I’ve been meaning to try the gel eyeliner for years.

IMG_0149I was very happy and honored to meet and get an invite from Ms. Frances A. Sales so I did not miss my chance to have a picture taken with her.

What I really love with attending events is meeting other people who have the same interests I have. We can all relate with each other, given that we are all mommies to different age groups of kids. In addition to that, we all love to write and get pretty with makeup.

I had a lot of fun and I learned a lot from Ms. Tamara! I will definitely save up for the products I used, most especially the intensive skin serum foundation and concealer!

Thank you again for the experience, Ms. Frances! I will never forget it.
