REVIEW: St.Ives Timeless Skin Collagen Elastin Moisturizer

2 Apr

I first heard of this product from a friend from my Graduate studies. She convinced me into buying me one for myself because she super loves this.

Actually, I’ve had since I was pregnant (2011). I was looking for a natural/organic moisturizer to replace my chemical moisturizers and my friend told me about this. We both love spending hours in the beauty section of department stores, just checking out and testing products. And when we got on the aisle filled with St.Ives products, I finally gave in and bought one.

I stayed away from products that may harm my baby so I began switching to natural alternatives. At this time, I still haven’t registered to become dealers of Human Nature and Krave Mineral Cosmeceuticals.

I’ve had this for almost two years now and the tub is almost a half empty. I use this religiously back then morning and night. I gradually changed into using HHN moisturizers so this tub sort of went on a hiatus. Now I am incorporating it again in my beauty regimen.

Rewind to the past, what made me buy this was actually the tag and its size.It only costs 239php for 10 ounce jar! HUGE, right?! It having collagen and elastin came in second and it being made without parabens and pthalates came in third.

When I first saw opened this I was thinking why they did not put a cover lid for the product or why they did not seal it in plastic.  You twist open the cap and you see (or get) the product straight…a little bit unhygienic, though. Then I forgot about it because the smell got me. I absolutely love its fresh, earthy, natural scent!

Since I am not a big fan of double dipping, I only get what is on the lid. I also transferred some to a smaller container to prevent the product from getting infected easily. It has a silkt texture and creamy, watery consistency that is not too thick and not greasy at all.

I used this after washing my face. I did not use toners before so I moisturize right after. My skin feels clean and refreshed after applying it. I felt my skin was hydrated and moisturized. It doesn’t leave my skin oily too. I love it!

I started using this again just this March when the weather has become hotter. This is lightweight and does not feel heavy on my skin. It is just right for summer since it almost has a gel like consistency. It makes my face a bit dewy, which is fine with me. I always put on sunblock after a layer of this since it has no sun protection. I use this at night too and I always wake up with a soft, smooth skin sans the oil. I also apply it on my lips at night and hoping it will make it plumper. Haha!

I haven’t really seen my “lines” visibly reduced though my skin does look fresher, softer and smoother. I plan to continue using this until I finish this. This stuff goes a very long way. It lasted me almost two years and I think it can last a little longer.

What I love about this:
(+) No Parabens and Pthalates
(+) Dermatologist tested and Non comedogenic
(+) Not tested on animals

(+) Has collagen and elastin properties that are great anti-aging boosters

(+) Lightweight and great for summer
(+) Hydrates and moisturizes my skin
(+) Makes my skin soft and smooth
(+) Cheap for 239php for a big 10 ounce jar!
What I don’t love:
(-) I have not seen any noticeable improvement on the lines that are starting to appear on my eye area.
(-) It has no sun protection.
(-) The packaging. I wish it comes in a pump bottle or squeeze tube though.
Will I repurchase? Yes!
Overall: I love this! I recommend this to anyone who is looking for an affordable moisturizer that work.
