REVIEW: Celeteque Dermoscience Anti-Wrinkle Collagen Gel

27 Dec

This product has a lot of firsts on the list, somehow making it special.

This is my first sample room product purchased. This is my first ever product from Celeteque.

It is also my first gel moisturizer!

I have been using the Celeteque Dermoscience Anti-Wrinkle Collagen gel for only five days and I can see that my skin has been less oily as it has been. I’ve been reading that the most suitable moisturizer for oily-skinned gals is a gel based moisturizer. So I was really happy to be seeing one in Sample Room.

I loved the simplicity of the packaging, yet I think some informations are missing… like the expiry date, ingredients, etc. A little goes a long way with this, that a pea-sized product is enough for the whole face. I am not a fan of its smell though.

Since I am new with gel moisturizers, I find that its absorption takes longer than the usual cream moisturizers I’ve tried, but it’s just fine with me. I love the ‘collagen’ most. I really haven’t seen visible wrinkle reduction but I think this product is very promising. I think I need to use this longer to see results. Overall, I love this and would buy it when I finish the one I have.

REVIEW: Human Nature 100% Natural Cleansing Oil

18 Dec

This is one of my favorite products from Human Nature. I’ve pledged to myself to be kind to the environment and to myself so I am trying to incorporate organic in everything I use. Sunflower cleansing oil is an addition to that.

Product Claims:

100% Natural

Take it all off with our premium cleansing oil. It gently erases all traces of makeup, even the most stubborn waterproof mascara! Just apply on your face and wipe off. It works double-time too – whereas most cleansing oils and make-up removers are packed with chemicals that strip your skin, ours is a naturally healthy oil which actually conditions your lashes and nourishes your skin.

Did you knowMineral oil, commonly used in personal care products, can actually clog pores. It works by sitting on the skin’s surface, thus blocking pores and impeding the skin’s ability to release toxins. It also dries skin and speeds up premature skin-ageing.

I am really not into using makeup daily, just powder to nix the oil in my face. I thought a makeup remover like this was relatively unimportant. Until I tried Human Nature Sunflower Cleansing Oil!

This is the first and only makeup remover I have used… and I am not planning on switching to any other product other than this one. Let me tell you why.

I started using this around May this year. And as you can see, the bottle is still half full. Well, I don’t use this everyday since I don’t wear makeup on a daily basis.

First of all, one pump is more than enough for the whole face. I pump a small amount of product in my palm, rub my hands together and pat it gently all over my face. I let it settle for about 5-10 minutes then use a cotton ball to wipe my face. Magically, it dissolves and strips away the makeup and dirt accumulated in my face.

Second, I don’t have to tug my face and eyes just to remove the stubborn waterproof mascaras, it melts them away just that. Easy peasy right? It doesn’t end there, once all the oil and makeup are wiped off, soft, smooth skin is revealed. I just follow it up by rinsing with a facial wash, then using a toner and moisturizer.

Third, it has a faint citrusy scent that somehow relaxes me after a long day.

Fourth, I use the remaining oil in my palm in my hair. It is like a hair serum since it softens my hair and keeps frizz away.

Fifth, I use a drop of this as my body oil/inshower moisturizer and my skin feels soft and supple.

Sixth, the price is relatively inexpensive for 200ml of natural product. The new version is 5ml less than the old one. I just wish there is a 50ml version for this so we can bring it along whenever we travel or have a sleepover at my parents’ house.

Seventh, the packaging and the pump bottle is improved and I can’t help myself to get a hold of a new one so I will have a reserve. As you can see, the pump is significantly changed, making it look more sleek and elegant.

better pump, better packaging

better pump, better packaging

I can’t get enough of the hearts on this bottle! I am now inspired to use this more often! Yay for hearts!

Have you tried this yet? What are your thoughts about it?

Review: KRAVE’s Oil Eliminator and Skin Hydrator

13 Dec

After months of using this, I can now post a legit review about it.

This is Krave‘s best seller. No doubt that this sells like pancakes.

OIL ELIMINATOR and SKIN HYDRATOR with Pearl powder(mineral primer & finishing powder)

3 grams net wt. P285

NON- COMEDOGENIC (won’t clog pores)
NON-ACNEGENIC (won’t cause acne break outs)

OIL ELIMINATOR and SKIN HYDRATOR is translucent so it won’t interfere with other mineral makeup colors you are wearing. Plus, it is specifically formulated to virtually erase the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles & large pores when applied.

Our formula includes 2 of the healthiest ingredients:
1. PEARL POWDER that aids in healing, skin brightening, anti-wrinkling, and sun protection. It also exfoliates the skin and promotes new cell regeneration.
2. SODIUM HYALURONATE the world’s powerful skin hydrator which brings balance to your complexion & keeps your make up application fresh all day long.

Secure plastic wrapped it to maintain its freshness. As you can see there is more space here than the powder. The powder is translucent and finely milled and is very much easy to apply.

I am glad I got the new one which is easier to open and close. Krave improved their packaging and I am pretty sure that they are preparing for more products to be released.

I didn’t use the sponge that came with it. I only keep it to prevent too much powder from coming out of the sifter.

I use this as a primer and a finishing veil. This works not only for oily and combination skin. Dry skin can also benefit from it since it is a ‘hydrator’.

I can say that it really prevented my skin from being oily throughout the day. It keeps makeup fresh and dewy. But that’s not the only thing there is to this little one. It also prevents ‘caking’. It also controls skin ph since sometimes, my skin turns darker after applying powder foundation. Some powder foundation darkens and cakes on me. But when I use this, there were no color changes in my skin. With this, no worries that your makeup will melt, cake, or darken. Amazing, right?

Here’s a summary of my likes and dislikes:

(+) USDA certified organic without parabens

(+) hypoallergenic, noncomedogenic, non acnegenic, nano particle free

(+) great primer! It keeps skin’s ph level to prevent any oxidation due to skin’s acidity.

(+) makes skin smooth even if you’re going to apply liquid or cream foundation

(+) translucent powder disappears into your skin and does not interfere with any makeup shade

(+) keeps oil at bay for a long time!

(+) advanced anti-aging!

(+) tightens pores and brightens my skin giving it a healthy glow

(-) Only available in 1 size, 3g.  Wish there was a bigger version for this.

(-) Wish it came with a mirror.

Here’s a proof:

with my two brothers 🙂

This pic was taken last October 10. We attended a  kiddie birthday party in SM Storyland. Of course I felt tired because I went with my daughter to more than 10 rides. But my makeup is still fresh. Thanks to Krave! 🙂

Products I used in the photo: Oil Eliminator and Skin Hydrator, Maybelline liquid foundation, Krave’s Complexion Perfection in Hazelnut, Human Nature eyeshadow in sweet innocence, Human Nature tinted lip balm in Flame Tree.

Hands down to Krave for creating this innovative product!

Yellow Cab Promo

5 Dec

While surfing the net, I saw this ad from Yellow Cab.

As soon as I saw this I showed it to my hubby and persuaded him to ordering pizza and pasta for lunch. The coupon must be printed, presented and surrendered upon purchase. In our case, we gave it to the delivery man.

We were sort of celebrating since we are expecting a very important delivery that same day. So to make this normal day otherwise, we ordered Spaghetti and Meatballs and 2 10-inch pizzas: NY Classic and New York’s Finest.

I know this is far too plenty for two people (and a baby!)to consume, but we wanted to avail of the free chocolate ice cream. Our total should hit a minimum of 1000php.

In less than 45minutes, we received our orders! Yippee!

Even the little girl was excited! She loves pasta and pizza as much as we do.

Spaghetti and Meatballs
New York’s Finest and NY Classic

To preserve the fresh from the oven look, taste, and feel of these, we helped ourselves and served it.

I love the spaghetti and meatballs for the big (huge!) meatballs that come with it. Chunky tomato sauce filled it too. I love tomatoes and it’s a plus that they are good for the heart. NY Classic is a family favorite. We order this every time we eat at Yellow Cab. Come to think of it, its just plain pepperoni…but when you have a bite of it, you’ll definitely remember its taste. Yummy, cheesy, tomatoey, a bit spicy… yummm! It’s unlike any other pepperoni pizza! New York’s Finest is a great mixture of toppings: Italian sausage, ham, pepperoni, bacon, ground beef, black olives, mushrooms, onions, red & green bell peppers. I love this too because its filled with uber yummy toppings to boot!

And of course, the little big bonus:

303 chocolate ice cream

303 chocolate ice cream

The ice cream sells for 120php/tub. This is the first time we’ve tried this and definitely not the last one. It is a semi-sweet chocolate and tastes like a gelato.

The promo  is valid until December 31, 2012. You still have time to order and get the free ice cream.

We have printed two more copies of the coupon so if there’s another chance that we will dine in Yellow Cab, we are ready to grab this little freebie!

Smart Parenting MEETandGREET

5 Dec

It is such an honor to be one of the chosen participants in this event. Thank you very much, Smart Parenting!

After registering, we were assigned to be in table #3.

Photobooth and Scholastic area

The event started after lunch so we helped ourselves in the photobooth and the scholastic area to lull time.

great food served!

The event was hosted by Ms.Issa Litton.

There were three speakers discussing interesting topics: dressing up according to our body shape and size, raising a reader, and spoiling a child. All three were successfully discussed in brief yet concise manner. I didn’t take pictures this time because I was busy writing down cues from the speakers. Everyone thought the topics are all very relevant.

There was a game too – Name that tune/Name that artist. Our table won this game! Yippee!!!

distracting my little girl so she will behave

I went with my little girl so I had to keep up with her. While listening to the speakers and jotting down notes, I had to play with her so she won’t cause any distractions. It is a plus that she got to see other kids in this event.

After the talk, every one gave in to bladder break. On my way to the rest room, I bumped into none other than SP EIC, Ms. Mia Fausto-Cruz. I greeted her and told her that I practically grew up with her (being the EIC of the mags I read)…from Candy magazine to Seventeen magazine until now in Smart Parenting magazine. It has always been a dream for me to meet her in person! She was uber nice. She “wowed” on me many times during that little conversation.

Going back to my seat in table #3, I was all smiles. Now the meet & greet will take place. Each table will talk with an SP team member, discussing anything and everything that is related to motherhood and parenting. Ms.Maika Bernardo was assigned to our table. Other mommies in table #3 were introducing themselves already. Before my turn, an SP events team approached me and asked me to transfer in table#2.

to die for moment!!!

Dreams do come true.

I’ve dreamt of meeting her my whole life (as a teenager) and finally I have THAT moment. I love her to bits! I will always remember this.

goodies each one gets to take home

I am very happy I attended this event. I am looking forward to more events from Smart Parenting.

Thank you very much, SP!

Maybelline Crazy Sale – 30% off

5 Dec

Who would not love the sound of that? It is that sound you hear from the cashier section of any malls. And for that matter, spending for the things you love, for much less the price sounds nicer. Right?

So when I saw the ad from Maybelline, I knew I had to make a haul. Again.

Here are the products:

I was able to convince hubby to buy me new stuff. 🙂 Thanks daddy!

I finally got the powder version of my Maybelline liquid foundation. And I am so excited to try them out together. It is always best to use products from the same brand for better results.

I was surprised with the sponge. Other refills which come with sponges aren’t kept like this. Good job, Maybelline!

Red Revival

My smile was from ear to ear when I was purchasing this. I said in my previous post that I would want to get Red Revival and Amethyst Ablaze. Too bad Amethyst Ablaze isn’t part of the sale so I put off that want for now. I can wait.

DIY: tinted moisturizer

4 Dec

I currently ran out of Myra E Tinted Moisturizer so I thought of making my own do-it-yourself concoction from two of my fave Krave products.

Here are the products that we need: moisturizer, foundation (or concealer), spatula, extra containers

moisture souffle night cream + ricotta liquid foundation

moisture souffle night cream + ricotta liquid foundation

I am not sure of the ratio but I used a 1:5 ratio, 1 drop of foundation is to 5 drops (or more) of moisturizer. You can add up to any of those two.

I didn’t use extra containers. I opened a new moisturizer to replenish the one I am currently using. The new night moisturizer will be the plain moisturizer and the other is for my day tinted moisturizer. I just continuously stir the two together until the color settles into a beige-ivory shade.

It may be a bit messy but don’t fret. I just wiped the excess with tissue and VOILA!

I now use two different moisture souffle moisturizers. The tinted one for mornings and the original one at night. 🙂

You can try this out too using your own favorites! Let me know what you used, alright?

I will try mixing the Snoe BBfied sampler I have and let you see soon.
